Fabulous vs Functional- Summer Bags

I have a weakness for purses and bags!  They always fit and can make a plain outfit fabulous.  If I had a bigger budget and didn’t spend most of my free time on a dirty soccer field here’s some fun summer bags I’d love to scoop up.

I love bags!

Reed Krakoff summer handbag, €860
Kate spade bag, $320
Rebecca Minkoff studded leather handbag, $525
Kate Spade woven handbag, $428
Kate Spade quilted handbag, $478
Coach cross body shoulder bag, $128
Coach zip wallet, $118
Coach crossbody satchel, $698
Kate Spade cross body shoulder bag, $278
Kate Spade striped handbag, $318

After getting grass stains on my Coach purses, I learned the hard way that I need to scale down my choices!  Now I look for affordable bags in tough materials that will shrug off damp grass and mud.  Here’s some fun, but practical alternatives to an expensive bag…

For soccer games, I’m enjoying using my new Land’s End tote– although it’s not the most fashionable thing I own, it is easy to throw everything in it.  I carry a wristlet wallet with my keys attached to make things easy.  I can quickly pull it out of my purse, tuck my phone in and then throw it in the bigger bag along with the ever present soccer ball and Gatorade.

  1. I love bags . . . oh how I love bags!! You’ve inspired me to post about handbags this week. I agree that while I love a designer bag, I have learned to be more practical. My favorite are the laminated canvas – like Orla Kiely. They hold up great and also come in really fun patterns.
