So Cal Soccer Forum- All the Dirt

screen-shot-2016-09-19-at-6-05-56-am

**Update** In July of 2016 “the Forum” was seemingly maliciously taken down and the entire database was deleted.  Although much of what is on the forum was gossipy/chatty/catty talk, there was so much valuable information shared and it’s a shame that it’s all been deleted.  Click here to read the post.  Dominic rallied and started a new site on a new platform which is now better than ever (although the historical information is gone forever).  By the way, there is a poster on the new site named “So Cal Soccer Mom”… but it’s not me 🙂  Click here to go to the new site.

When Big Soccer Girl first started playing club at U9 I heard people talking about “The Forum”  and I had no idea what they were talking about.  I finally asked someone and they gave me the website www.socalsoccer.com and I’ve been hooked ever since.

The forum is all So Cal Soccer all the time and filled with great information along with rumors, innuendos and silly arguments.  The owner, Dominic, does a great job keeping everything running smoothly and although I rarely post anything, I’ve learned so much by reading what others say.  Unofficial rankings, reviews and gossip all help to understand what is going on in the youth Soccer world.  When the SCDSL was first announced, I already knew about it from reading on the forum.  Friendlies are often advertised on the forum and nowhere else.  It’s also a great place to make connections with other soccer parents.

Of course information isn’t always reliable, but it’s better than nothing and it’s often quite amusing.  Take everything with a grain of salt and you’ll be just fine.  Go check it out…just be careful, it can be addicting!

  1. Hello Lisa,
I am glad you like “The Forum” , it can be addicting I hear. Your blog here is very informative for the new Soccer Mom’s,and for the veteran Mom’s who know the field numbers by heart at Lancaster , you know the spot where you either go into the driveway on the left, or on the right.

  2. Dom banned me from the soccer forums for no other reason than he wanted me to join his SoCal Opinions Forum. He gave me no reason whatsoever. I have many friends on that site and a God daughter about to start playing club, so I have a keen interest to continue on that site and want nothing to do with the off the charts political rhetoric of his other site. So, although I have never had a problem with Dom, I am now not a fan of his. He has also done this to others hoping to build up his other site. Just thought you should know.

    1. I’ve never gotten into that side of the Forum, but I know that conversations can get lively. I stick to the soccer stuff.

      1. I like both, but youth soccer (and soccer in general) is my main interest. Now I no longer have the option of talking soccer with others on Dom’s soccer site as he has banned me, due to no fault of my own, in an attempt to bolster his “Opinion” site. Ah well, this is life.

  3. Question: We may be relocating to Valencia. Any recomendations for soccer clubs specifically in the U15′ boys, U12 for girls? Also, looking at Moorpark.

    1. Hi- I’m not very familiar with that area, but I know that Real So Cal, a very good club, is not too far from that area. Their U12 Girls team had games in Thousand Oaks. Moorpark Soccer Club (Express) also has teams in those age groups. Hope you find a great fit for you! Thanks for the comment.

  4. Hi Socal SoccerMom, I was wondering if you knew of a competitive league or club for my 4yr old boy? He stays with my baby’s momma over in South Cental Los Angeles. Thanks.

    1. Hmmm… I’m so sorry, but from what I’ve heard it might be too late for your boy. Most boys are now starting at U2 if they want to have any chance of making an academy team. Good luck in your search!
