Who’s That Goat?

Recently we received one of the most coveted invitations in the So Cal U12 soccer world… Big Soccer Girl was invited to play with Goats FC- the most exclusive and elusive futbol club around.

What is Goats FC you might ask?  It’s a team created by a bunch of awesome soccer dads (and some moms too) from all different clubs who “met” on the So Cal Soccer Forum.  (I wrote a bit about it here)  Their motto?  No agendas, no coaches, just a good time.  What could be better than that?

From dance party “warmups” to water balloon fights, we had a great day with awesome girls and families and we’re looking forward to more tomorrow.

  1. Awesome…looks like a ton of fun! I think I’ll have to get together with the U10’s to do a team like this!

And..I recognize one of the players..she goes to my dd’s school 🙂 Hope you had fun!

    1. Great idea! Hmmm…what could we be?? The llamas? The anteaters? The sheep? Let’s work on this.

  2. So Cal Soccer Mom – it was a pleasure to meet you. Now you know the recipe,..just ask the DOC for the rights,..and you will be Goats FC version 2.0, and the age under you which we are working on will be version 3.0 (Goats FC – the billy goats)!!

    1. It was a pleasure to meet you and your family as well! I will ask the “OG” (Original Goats) DOC for the rights…I’m sure for a small fee they will consider my offer. I love the v2.0 and 3.0 idea. Starting now…

  3. Hey Lisa….I know I was thinking the same thing…the lambs, the llamas, but I think Goats v2.0 might be better….I already have several friends at various clubs that I think would be game 🙂

    1. Me too! Let’s start organizing! I will start collecting unmarked bills to give the OGs to get the naming rights approved. LOL

  4. Goats are similar to the stray cats. Stray cats, like the goats are a gathering of the best or close to the best soccer girls at certain age groups. Goats no different. Though watching both teams play, I think the Cats are a bit better. Yah, no coaches, but a bunch of yelling dads confusing the girls out there.

    1. Well, I will always be partial to the Goats, but anything that is fun for kids and parents sounds good to me.
